Winter Restaurant Week
Okay, either they're underpublicizing this stuff or I just keep missing it, but... A friend alerted me that next week, January 8-14, is restaurant week. I guess I'll be skipping it this year since a) I'm not seeing anyone, at all, right now, b) Oddly enough, all of my female friends are not single, and c) I refuse to do a man date. Unless you're gay, I just think there's something awkward about two men having dinner in a nice restaurant. Maybe it's because the point of going out is the prospect of sex at the end of the night, however remote. "Look, Bill, I know we're not gay, but... you know... I *did* pick up the check, so... are you going to invite me up or what?" Anyway, you kids go and enjoy yourselves. I was going to recommend Tosca, but I guess they're sitting this year out. Also, Dino is doing restaurant month. So have at it.

the list somehow doesn't seem as good as usual. or perhaps i'm just disenchanted? i always get a chuckle out of average-joe restaurants like austin grill jumping in the race for restaurant week. $30 for 3 courses at austin grill? no thanks.
K - ah, you mean the old threesome of unavailability. Yep, did that one on my birthday.
ETC - I stand corrected. Yeah, I think with some of those restaurants you'd actually be paying MORE than you would at menu price.
I think we win.
Good luck with the cigarette weaning, btw. I'm going to have to go Cold Turkey. Think I'll take up knitting, so that I've something to do with my hands. For me, the action itself is what I'm addicted to...not so much the nicotine or the oral fix it provides.
I'm more of an action guy myself too - it's going to be hard. Although, you might look peculiar knitting in a bar.
Besides, no one is grumpy once KassyK starts with the Xanax and I have Klonopin now. Come on! Fun for all!
