Random Bits
There's a barbershop quartet/motown/a capella thing going on in front
of Metrocenter on 13th. Really random, but also kind of annoying
since I AM trying to work here. Ok, I'm clearly not working.
It doesn't just happen to you, Ladies. I was in line for the
bathroom the other night and some drunk dude just kept staring at
me. When I didn't turn to meet his stare, he started talking to
me - something about people in the back of the line and how they were
jealous. I just gave him my "yeah that's nice, Crazy" nod and
went back to studying my beer bottle. I could tell out of the
corner of my eye he was still staring at me. I wasn't picking up
a gay vibe or anything - I think he was just was of those drunk people
who wants to be BFF with randoms in the bathroom line. Really
weird.
Tono Sushi in Woodley Park is pretty good. Unlike many sushi
places, they have a full menu of Asian food, including Japanese,
Chinese, Viet Namese, and Thai. This is good, because I don't
like sushi. I had a hankering for hot and sour soup and General
Tso's Chicken, which I got (though a decidedly Japanese version of it),
and which you can't get at a typical sushi place. By contrast,
City Lights is a chinese restaurant that serves sushi. And then
there's Raku, which is kind of identity-less. So DC is pretty
good for people who take an "I don't know, you people all look alike to
me" approach to Asian food. Possibly because we have so many
tourists (red staters, I'm looking in your direction). Anyway,
check out Tono - it's ichiban.
Did you know that firetrucks can eat six times their own weight? Thank you Peter Griffin.
