All Heroes Falling From Grace That Is Naked

Ok, the title was a stretch.  Regular readers know that I'm a big fan of the OTHER great Charlottesville band, Slackjaw.  Though the band disappeared well over five years ago, several of the members have started a new band called Naked Grace.  If you visit the website, you might even notice a Slackjaw tshirt in the picture.  Anyway, according to a comment left on an older post they have a cd out and are playing at the Clarendon Grill on Dec. 21.  I will be there (yes, in Atown - I'm crossing the Potomac for this) trying to recapture those halcyon days of drinking cheap beer in a frat house whilst flailing about to the best cover of "Land Down Under" I've ever heard.  So come out and support your local music scene.

A good cover of "Land Down Under" would be worth it, I think. Oh I yearn for the halcyon days when I could go out to shows on a regular basis...

I'll be there. And you still need my Slackjaw bootleg tape, which has their cover of "Train in Vain" on it. My favorite cover of theirs, by far, was Rio, which they only played a couple of times at Theta Chi. They felt it was too cheesy, and everyone (their frat brahs) liked to taunt them at shows with chants of "Rio." But "Land Down Under" was kick-ass too.
